Thanksgiving

This weekend we celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada, a time to think about the good things God has given us, and to give Him thanks for His provision and care.  
 

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
 

You know that Scripture tells us to give thanks to God. But have you ever thought about worshiping Him through thanksgiving?

When we give thanks we acknowledge that the good things in our lives are gifts from God, and that we did nothing to earn them. It reminds us that we depend on God. It humbles us as we realize how little we could do without His provision and help.  
 

And as we realize our need for God, and His goodness toward us, we are drawn to Him in worship.
 

Give thanks to God this weekend. And after Thanksgiving is over, remember to thank God for what He does every day. When you worship God between the Sundays, start by looking around you and finding at least 5 things to thank God for. 
 

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
