Why I choose CEFOntario

This week, Amy Vincencio shares why she decided to intern with CEFOntario this summer:

“I have chosen to work with CEF as a summer intern because I believe that teaching the gospel towards disadvantaged children is a meaningful and transformative experience. It offers a unique opportunity for me to make a positive impact on the lives of children while deepening one’s understanding of faith.

First and foremost, I continued my journey with CEF because each time I learn more about committing my life to Jesus and seeing how everyone is used from both their weaknesses and strengths for God’s glory; I am able to be nurtured in my spiritual growth through sharing the message of love, hope, and faith. In doing so, I have the chance to empower these young individuals coming to camp/SMT, providing them with a spiritual foundation that can guide them throughout their lives.

Interning in this organization also sharpens my skills such as communication, leadership, and adaptability. Secondly, being a mentor to volunteers who share the same passion for teaching the gospel amplifies the impact for me to become a role model, providing guidance and support to fellow volunteers. While still developing organizational skills, initiative, and problem-solving capabilities. By mentoring and sharing experiences, I can be used by God to create a ripple effect of change that extends beyond their immediate influence.

To sum up everything that has been stated; interning in the summer to teach the gospel to disadvantaged children offers a powerful combination of personal growth, spiritual growth, and the chance to positively impact young lives. By using my time at CEF, I have the best opportunity to make a lasting difference while developing valuable skills and broadening my understanding as a Christian.”
