Take the Turn

This week we have a devotional written for us by Engage student, Shaidyn Pharand:

I’ve been learning to drive in order to get my G2, and recently I was driving home with my dad. If you have learned or are learning to drive you probably know the anxious feeling you get when you mess up. I accidentally cut off someone and the other car started honking at me and my heart started racing. I quickly pulled over into a parking lot and was scared to keep driving. But soon I decided to go back onto the road. I had to pull out onto the street but I was anxious to turn. That’s when my dad said “the spot won’t be open forever.” And I’ve been thinking about that.

The next step in life won’t always be open. If you stay back  for too long the rest of the ‘cars’ will go ahead. The opportunities will disappear. Take the turn God wants you to.

Even when the enemy and the world pulls you down and makes you feel anxious you have to keep going because the opportunities God lays out won’t be there forever.

Application

Listen to what God is telling you to do, don’t be scared. If you’ve run away from the path of God in fear, turn back without hesitation. Don’t let your fear bring you down and turn you away from the path God has for you. Go into his plans with confidence.

“So we say with confidence, ‘the Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid’.” Hebrews 13:6

Ask Yourself

What’s something God is telling you today?

Have you stepped off the path God has for you?

Where do you need to turn today?

Sit in God’s presence and Listen.
