Renewable energy that’s life changing

Renewable energy that’s life changing

When I was in grade school (which seems like yesterday, but was decades ago), I remember learning about renewable and non-renewable energy. I remember thinking as a kid, “Why are we using so much non-renewable energy? They’re going to run out.  The thought scared me.”

Fast forward forty years and there’s a much greater focus on using renewable energy.

“By 2026, global renewable electricity capacity is forecast to rise more than 60% from 2020 levels to over 4 800 GW – equivalent to the current total global power capacity of fossil fuels and nuclear combined. Renewables are set to account for almost 95% of the increase in global power capacity through 2026, with solar PV alone providing more than half.” HERE

I’m thankful the focus has shifted, by why so late in the game?

It’s a lot like how many people, especially those who don’t know Jesus, choose to live their lives. They look for strength and joy from non-renewable sources. Parties, entertainment, alcohol, drugs… it very temporarily “fixes” a problem and is non-renewable. In many cases, it’s life altering-damaging.

Unlike renewable energy, which is dependent on the development of technology, we have access to renewable energy that is complete and inexhaustible.

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…” Isaiah 40:31

“My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“I can do all things through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

“Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

When we are tired, or get our strength from all the wrong places, we can’t see clearly and we make wrong decisions.  But when we look in the right direction we get strength and joy unlike anything the world has to offer.

What if every child grew up knowing about all that Jesus has to offer?  They would learn to live life with the greatest renewable source at an early age.  It would change the trajectory of their life, and the lives around them.

Your commitment to reaching kids with the gospel helps make this happen.  Let’s continue to reach tomorrow’s heroes, together.
