Love God

Love God

Love God

We often read Revelations to find out what’s going to happen in the end times. But I don’t think that’s the primary purpose of this prophecy. I think the main point of the book of Revelations is to show us who God is.

We can see His power in Genesis when He merely spoke and our entire world came into existence. But Revelations shows us more than His power.  It gives us a glimpse of His glory.

The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow….From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames.  Revelation 4:3, 5

This is the God who loves you enough to die for you.

Can you imagine any love greater than this? Knowing God loves you is important. But knowing who this God who loves you is should fill you with amazement and love for Him.

Love God.  He is worth it.
“You are worthy, O Lord our God,
to receive glory and honor and power.
For you created all things,
and they exist because you created what you pleased.”
Revelation 4:11
