Follow God First

You must not have any other god but me.  Exodus 20:3

Jesus said:  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33

Visiting a construction site can be a dangerous thing. There are hazards everywhere, some obvious and some less so. If I’m walking through a site and the builder tells me to take a certain path, but the banker who financed the building told me to take a different path, who do you think I’d follow? Obviously the one who actually built the path!

Since God made us and the world we live in, it makes sense to follow His way as we navigate through it.



For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.  Romans 11:36

Anything or anyone else we choose to follow is not only inferior to God, but was actually made by Him. It would be ludicrous to follow someone He created rather than following the One who created us all!

How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! Psalm 147:5

God is omniscient, or all-knowing. He knows everything that’s happened, that will happen, and that could happen. So we can trust that wherever  God leads us is the best way to go.

Instead of making sure you don’t follow the wrong one, focus on following the right one. Follow Jesus.
