A Father to the Fatherless
After hearing the Bible lesson at a 5-day club Tristan responded to the invitation and came to the back.
Ashley sat down with him and reviewed the gospel message to make sure he understood what it meant. The Bible verse used was 1 John 1:12, “Yet to all who receive Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
Tristan prayed to receive Jesus into his heart. After he finished praying Ashley said, “You’re a child of God now.”
Excitedly Tristan asked, “You mean God’s my Father now?”
“Yes.” Ashley replied.
Tristan was so excited, and so was Ashley.
Later that day Ashley learned that Tristan’s dad had recently walked out on the family and that Tristan had been without a dad.
What a timely verse, only God could know what was going on in his life.
Today, (Saturday, July 15), the Crew (the summer missionaries) you have been praying for are being sent out around the province to work alongside churches, to help them reach the kids in their communities. Other Crew will be serving at Camp Good News loving on the kids who come to camp.
The Crew will meet kids like Tristan, and many others from different circumstances.
Would you pray for the Crew to be effective in their teaching and sensitive to God’s leading? The kids of Ontario need Jesus as much as they ever have, if not more.
